In our hometowns, our nations, and globally, we put up with increasingly negative – even catastrophic – impacts of continued expansion of the human footprint because we believe growth is inevitable or even essential. Hooked on Growth explores the myths behind this thinking. And it charts a new way forward – offering happiness and sustainability not attainable on the grindstone of never-ending growth.

This film and website will help us all recognize our cultural bias toward growth. Then we can begin looking at the world through a more sustainable lens that recognizes there are limits to growth.

I know this is the right film at the right time because every day I hear from people around the world with words of encouragement. They’re joining a growing grass roots support network for this non-profit project.

We’re working hard to finish this film and release it in early 2011. To do that, we could use your help. Join a growing worldwide team of volunteers and contributors spreading the word about this project, helping to fund it, pitching in on research and production now, and then organizing community screenings when the film is released. That’s the only way we can distribute a film that questions what has become our global faith, the worship of growth everlasting. Check out some of the key positions open right now. Visit our Volunteer Network for ways you can pitch in on a more occasional basis. Contact me if your group would like to partner with us in promoting and screening the film.

Thanks for joining the movement!
