About the Organization

Citizen-Powered Media (CPM) is a Colorado non-profit incorporated in November, 2006. We received 501(c)3 status from the IRS in July, 2007. Your contributions to support our activities are tax-deductible to the full extent provided by IRS regulations concerning donations to charitable organizations.

Citizen-Powered Media exists to:

• assist citizen groups, other non-profit organizations, communities and grassroots organizations in educating the public about important social and environmental issues.
• ensure public access to a balance of information on issues in which one perspective has a preponderance of leverage to influence opinion.
• serve groups that cannot otherwise afford significant expenditures on advertising, media relations, lobbyists, and other consultants and spokespersons.
• provide a more active voice for everyday citizens and increase diversity of well-communicated perspectives on a variety of community issues.
