Governor Whitmer Launches Ponzi Population Policy
The Michigan Governor is apparently unaware that the world, the U.S. and even Michigan are overpopulated. Michigan population has been growing a little too slowly for her taste, so Whitmer has appointed a Chief Growth Officer and formed the Growing Michigan Together Council. Not surprisingly, her bottom line is to “spur economic growth.”
In an episode you should share with YOUR governor, you’ll get the details and find out why this news puts “a bee in Dave’s bonnet,” plus news about some outstanding new studies, a wonderful commentary in Newsweek, a crazy podcast you’ll like, and a possible candidate for U.S. President.

The GrowthBusters theme song was written and produced by Jake Fader and sung by Carlos Jones.
On the GrowthBusters podcast, we come to terms with the limits to growth, explore the joy of sustainable living, and provide a recovery program from our society’s growth addiction (economic/consumption and population). This podcast is part of the GrowthBusters project to raise awareness of overshoot and end our culture’s obsession with, and pursuit of, growth.
Dave Gardner directed the documentary GrowthBusters: Hooked on Growth, which Stanford Biologist Paul Ehrlich declared “could be the most important film ever made.” Co-host Stephanie Gardner has degrees in Environmental Studies and Environmental Law & Policy.

If Governor Whitmer wants to increase the quality of life in Michigan, then she should end exclusionary zoning in Michigan. If she thinks a higher population translates to a better quality of life, then consider than between 2000 and 2010 about 240,000 people LEFT Detroit.
I worked for a good company for 20.5 years and then our subsidiary was sold to one of those ‘at will’ companies. After about a year with the new company, we were scolded at an all-staff meeting for not giving enough to the poor. They asked if anyone had any suggestions. Near the end of the meeting, I went to the front of the room, where I’d be more easily seen and heard, and did about 5 minutes explaining my situation in the mobile home park. I was paying enough in lot rent every two years to pay for that small lot. I suggested that we campaign to end exclusionary zoning restrictions against small, affordable homes.
Two days later, they called me into the office and asked if I’d like to resign my position. They said that I said that people didn’t have to give to the poor. Yes, I did say that here was something that would empower poor people to help themselves and it would empower the rest of us as well. But I would never tell anyone how to spend their time or their money. And I said I did not wish to resign my position. So, they put me on six months of probation and fired me just under six months later.
The next morning, they called and offered to pay a third party to help me find a new job. I told them that I would NOT apply for unemployment benefits and my plan was to just retire. My plan B was to move my singlewide OUT of that mobile home park near Detroit, where I had been living for 18 years. If I wanted to stay in Michigan, then I would’ve had to move my singlewide 167 miles north of Detroit. Instead, I moved it to a quarter acre residential lot about 55 miles NE of Cincinnati, where it is a little warmer. That was in October, 2008, when I was 59.

New discussion point hot off the airwaves. Kamela Harris freudian slip up if not incorrect reading of talking point indicated population reduction was a goal. They corrected that saying she “meant” pollution reduction. Elon Musk, “father of at least 10”, reacted by sayin “we need to increase population”. Probably more people to buy his stuff is the goal.

City abortion funding saves city school tax, so much so that cities can then fund country abortions as well, all without answering to country voters.
In this way, my guess is that 10 cities can cover the USA and 25 can cover the world.

“She wasted no time. Less than 2 minutes into the address” Well then she wasted 2 minutes, as you waste all kinds of time in your podcast with introductions and stuff. Get to the point already!

Michigan is northern and can easily grow it’s population be welcoming domestic refugees from the US South, refugees from both climate change and abortion bans. Colorado can do this too. One of these refugees might be me.

Homebuilding permits do not cause population growth, abortion bans do that. Phoenix is wrong to use water as an excuse to limit the housing supply, which causes homelessness, not overpopulation. instead, they should either ration water or raise water rates enough to reduce demand, and both those primarily effect agriculture, not housing. Both you and Phoenix are wrong to support housing permit limits, support abortion funding instead.

100 years is plenty long to source water because most houses don’t last 100 years anyway, especially if you know you will run out of water and so slack off on maintenance. You can also truck in your water just like heating oil, to houses virtually anywhere. Again housing and housing permits do NOT cause overpopulation, they only address homelessness, not birth rates. Abortion bans cause overpopulation, NOT housing permits.

Both You and Dave Gardner need to run for MAYOR, not President, until we have 5000 abortion (and contraception) funding mayors, and not mayor of Colorado Springs, move like Hillary to a town you can win, and never limit unit density, which does nothing for birthrates and only causes homelessness. fund abortions instead.
